Low on Fuel

on

Like the pellets in the Traeger, I am low on fuel.

Tired.

Teacher tired.

And like those pellets, I scoop together what’s left.

Anxious for the refuel.

The recharge.

And I keep checking to make sure I’m not out altogether.

Because according to the label on the inside of the hopper, if it runs out of pellets, TURN IT OFF.

I’m hoping there is enough,

just enough, left to get us both through to the moment when we can safely engage the “Shut Down Cycle.”

Cool down.

Let down.

Until the next time.

  1. This rings so true for me too. I love your analogy to the pellets because our fuel IS what is low. Not easy. Beautifully written!
